Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James finally addressed the media after ignoring the post-game press conference that followed his Game Six loss to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals.
James said he was proud of the way his team played this year and felt that they improved from last season. How he figured that losing in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals was better than losing in seven games is beyond me.
LeBron also addressed the way he refused to shake hands with his former Olympic teammate Dwight Howard.
“It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them. I’m a winner. [...] If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them. That doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a competitor. That’s what I do. It doesn’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody’s hand.” [AP]
Disgusting.
If Kobe Bryant had done this, he would get blasted by every single blog and newspaper that exists, but I don’t expected LeBron to be ridiculed at all.
