So, Randy Johnson is now the second active pitcher, the 24th ever, the second oldest, and the fifth lefty to reach the 300-win plateau.
He did so yesterday in a six inning performance against the Washington Nationals. The Big Unit threw 78 pitches, allowing two hits and an unearned run while striking out two.
The debate over who will be the next to reach 300 wins is now on. My money is on CC Sabathia, if I had to pick a current major league. I’d still say we won’t see another 300-game winner for 20 or so years.
