Reds In the Hunt for Sheffield

Gary SheffieldThe Cincinnati Reds are showing interest in recently released outfielder Gary Sheffield.

Both Manger Dusty Baker and General Manager Walt Jocketty confirmed the team’s interest.

The Reds can pay Sheffield the league minimum of $400,000 because the Tigers will be paying Gary the $14 million they owe him for this season.

Jocketty also said that the Reds were interested in Geoff Jenkins, Andruw Jones and Joaquin Arias.
