Reds In the Hunt for Sheffield
Both Manger Dusty Baker and General Manager Walt Jocketty confirmed the team’s interest. The Reds can pay Sheffield the league minimum of $400,000 because the Tigers will be paying Gary the $14 million they owe him for this season. Jocketty also said that the Reds were interested in Geoff Jenkins, Andruw Jones and Joaquin Arias.
