Stephen Curry Injures Ankle During Team USA Practice

Stephen Curry injured his ankle during practice with the US Men’s National Team today, however the injury is not considered to be serious and Stephen should be ready to go for Team USA’s next scrimmage this Saturday.

Curry will be re-evaluated tomorrow morning to see whether or not he can practice on his ankle.

“He’ll be fine,” Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said after practice today.

Team USA is currently practicing in Spain before competing in two exhibition games against Lithuania (Saturday) and Spain (Sunday). The latter should be the most competitive ball that Team USA plays prior to the World Championships in Turkey as the United States and Spain are seen as the two best teams in the tournament going in.

Earlier this summer, Curry’s new NBA teammate David Lee was sent home from the Team USA mini-camp in Las Vegas, Nevada, due to a finger injury.

Curry is currently battling for the final spot on the roster with Eric Gordon and Danny Granger. Hopefully this injury will not effect his chances of making the team.
