@<a href="http://butthegameison.com/blog/19202/are-the-rockets-now-an-offense-only-team/comment-page-1/#comment-7292" rel="nofollow">Filipe</a>: I know that they were tired but that didn't show on the offensive end. At some point it's just a lack of effort on D.

And Lowry, again, isn't that big of an upgrade. He's a tremendously efficient offensive player but is average on defense at best.

If you rest Martin and Brooks at different times, like the Warriors sometimes do with Curry and Ellis, there is room for growth. I'll be interested to see how it would play out minute wise.

Lowry is a improvement on Brooks on defense. One probably should not use the Jazz game as a good example, it was a second night of a back to back in which both Martin and Brooks played 40+ minutes in the first game and Lowry, Battier and Ariza were all out, so they played Brooks-Martin-Budinger most of the time, which is a receipe for disaster. I think they should prepare the rotation so Martin and Brooks take as much rest at different times as possible, so they pretty much play together let's say 18 minutes a night and their other 18 minutes is done with either Battier/Ariza or Lowry, if Aldeman take his time he can come out with a rotation that make that happen.

@<a href="http://butthegameison.com/blog/19202/are-the-rockets-now-an-offense-only-team/comment-page-1/#comment-7278" rel="nofollow">Ngacier</a>: Though I like Lowry and think he has a place in Houston, it is not as if he is an excellent defender that can make up for the lack of D from K-Mart and Brooks. In fact, statistically, he is a below average defender.

I think Lowry would actually look better in the proposed all-offense scenario. He can make a living running the break and likes to draw contact at the hoop.

You forgot about Lowry (who's injured right now)...the ideal way is actually to start KevMart with Lowry and play Brooks as the first guy off the bench (Landry style).

As long as Lowry injured, we cannot get a good enough defensive backcourt
