Reading the Internet: 1.26.10

Reading the Internet” will give excerpts or links to stories, videos or pictures that are popular in the sports world for that day. The title of the article was inspired by Florida Marlins manager Freddy Gonzalez when he said “I read the newspaper…..and those others, uh, reading the internet…” in an interview on the Baseball Show on ESPN Radio.

Here are today’s headline:

Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton was given probation for a year.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that a lot of teams are looking to make a deal for Amare Stoudemire at the deadline. Of the teams listed, I would like to see him most on the Bulls.

John Krolik of Cavs: the Blog expresses his opinions on the Amare to the Cavs rumors. And here is his recap of last night’s game.

Don Nelson will not be retiring after this season according to the man himself. Good thing for Monta Ellis’ stats, bad thing for his knees.

Kelly Dwyer of Ball Don’t Lie says Devin Harris is the better individual player between himself and Jason Kidd, but the Mavericks won that trade by a landslide.

Mark Lorreta has retired from baseball.

The Hawks have signed veteran forward Mario West to another ten day contract.

Tonight I will be watching the Lakers and the Wizards on NBAtv at 6 followed by the Kings and Warriors.
