A fan at an Oakland Athletic’s game caught rookie outfielder Matt Carson’s first career home run ball. Most of the time, the fan that caught the ball will ask for a bat or the autograph of a more famous teammate in return, but this time, the fan asked for a $10,000 check. That’s a pretty big sum of money for a young kid. The bright side? At least MLB authenticated his bat, so he can frame that and put it up on his mantle. [SF Gate]
